For the last couple of days, my high speed internet service has had some problems. It got to the point where I just had to get up and walk away because I couldn't get anything done.

I thought about going shopping, but it was hot as hell out there and really didn't feel like driving anyway. So I sat. "Should I take a nap?" I asked myself. I really could use some rest since I am always working and never get the chance to get a full nights sleep.

It turns out as I was sitting on my couch veging away. Something popped into my head which has continued to fuel my quest since childhood. My dream of finally finding the "Holy Grail" of "Cheap Power Genration". The call of my eternal quest kept beckoning me and then everything went silent.

Suddenly I knew I had to reach for some paper and pen. Seven hours later I had some rough designs of two power generating systems. One was a "Gravity Generator" and the other is what I call a "Pulse Generator".

I think I may finally be on to something workable this time. Although rare, I have had these moments of genius before (as I'm sure many other people as well), but none has produce such clear and detailed results as today. What I need to do now is refine the designs, locate parts, and materials. Then start building prototypes and see if it actually works as it should.

It seems that my day hasn't been such a waste after all. I am tired, but feeling good. I thought I'd share a little peace of my day with our members at FriendsForCash.Com. Now I can take my nap.

Just letting everyone know that this is finals week for school. So, things will likely be a little quiet on my end.

Anyhow we are now 24 days away from the cash give-away. I'm definitely excited. The last time we had a give-away event it was loads of fun.

Every 5 minutes. something was given away. Everyone that participated had a blast. This time will be different as the event will demonstrate the benefit of why members should refer their friends.

If you haven't read my previous blog titled, "Web 2. What?". You can read it here.

This is a follow-up of my previous blog.

I just checked out the web 2.0 website and the their so called "web2upgrade". It looks like their site have just confirmed my initial thoughts on their so called technology (cough). It also looks like they had everyone that signed up fooled.

Anyway they are not offering anything special and I can safely say their upgrade is a sham and doesn't exist. All they did was purchased a cheap social networking script from dzoic. As I was checking things out their site wasn't working lol.

Also the toolbar which they ask you to download is for Internet explorer and produced by a company by the name of Softomate that has been known to include adware or spyware. Softomate appears to be out of business as their site is not working. Though it could just be down at the moment... who knows, but if I had to guess they are probably out of business due to spyware/malware or possibly trojan installation.

As the cliche goes, "if it's too good to be true, it probably is". Looks like everyone that signed up is going to be sorely disappointed.

The bottom line is there is no upgrade. From the looks of things, it would seem they are just trying to ride on the tailcoates of the popularity of social networking sites such as Myspace and Facebook and so on...

Many have probably seen or used tiny URLs. These are great for use with character limited texting like twitter and mobile messages. However, it is bad when it is used on regular website for many reasons. Though it is convenient, I will get right to the point as why it shouldn't be used.

Why shouldn't you use tiny URLs or similar services?

1. It has a single point of failure. If the service is down or out of business so is all your links and all your efforts would have been wasted.

2. It creates distrust because links are hidden or masked. Users do not know what they are clicking on or where it will send them.

3. Such servcies can also send malware, viruses, spyware or a number of potential threats.

4. Short URLs will hurt your ranking in search engine. Short URL users will be hurting themselves and the site or products they are promoting.

So, if you are a webmaster, blogger or a marketer it is best not to use short URLs. The above is only a small list of reasons. I am sure you can probably think of many more reason why it shouldn't be used.
