In my 16 years, I have learned alot. And there are some things that have been bothering me and other stuff in general that I'm going to say. Feel free to comment on what I've said and/or add some things in your life that you have noticed.

1.) Money is NOT how people get happy in life. Actually, there was a study where the happiest people were of the low and low middle class. Relationships with people, especially family is the what causes people. If you think I'm wrong, then I guess you'll find out sooner or later.

2.) The only possible way for "world peace" is to be able to tolerate or put up with on countries. There are too many variables in the world for there to ever be complete world peace, but we can put up with it.

3.) I have been taking history classes for the majority of my life however short that may be, and the leading liar is religion. I'm not saying I'm atheist, but more of an agnostic. We have a hard enough time with understanding some of the smallest things, how can we actually know whether or not there is some sort of almighty god that is the cause of everything around us. Thousands of years ago, we were basically idiots and once we developed into what you could call human, we knew nothing. So we explained all the unknown things around us by making up false gods that would make the sun rise, or lightning and so on. Now we have learned over time that these things all are scientifically related. This is the main reason for war. IF there were never a thing such as religion I think many of our problems would not exist such as war. However, I think it gives people that have a bad life to live on because they have this hope that if they continue a good life w/o killing or suicide, that they will have eternal rest and happily ever after. And I'm already assuming I will have someone argue with me talking about "miracles". And then I ask you this, how can you for sure know without a doubt that there is a god. We have people now that say they've talked to god or seen him or what have you. Well after you think something is there, over time you're gonna see it. Look at you're wall and picture bambi and if you look long enough, i bet you'll find bambi. That is why I feel agnostic, I can't without a doubt say there is no god, even though I doubt it and eventually most of the things the church has told us will be proven and will make you think, what do they really know? Feel free to comment

4.) People are natural good. We do things to avoid consequences because we are not perfect.

Well I have more but I want people to add their own so comment please

I had a massive heart attack and fell dead in the emergency depatment of one of our better hospitals( they are all good this one is just the best public one i know of) from what i was told , they took me inot a room and started working on me with the airbag and heart massage, untill a doctor arrived about 2 1/2 minutes later. Then they started with the electricity which they hit me with 8 times in total , slowly building up the power until the 5th go then it was at max till they brought me back. they did bring me back twice early in the peice with the massage but i couldnt hang on it seems.the last time was the last even if it did not work.

thankfully it did, in the days after they did do a lot of test to make sure i wasnt brain dead or had any repercussions from the lack of oxygen to the brain, 1 pupil is slightly larger and i do sometimes find it hard to understand even basic things. This is only a minor problem as i know that if i leave and come back i know i will get it, just last week i made 2 trips to the post office to send mail and each time i forgot the letter or the address( so hopefully it will get sent tomorrow) but at other times i understand things that i shouldnt ( if you understand that)

As to the wars i cannot claim to know the reasons behind them but i do honestly think that if all where more equal there would be less desire to take that which belongs to someone else, be it land oil or life. we will never reach utopia on this earth as its to late, we have done to much damage to reverse it now, but with luck the damage can stop maybe not in my time but in the time of our children. I dont know what is going on in your patch of dirt but over here we are starting to make changes that will be of benifit in years to come but it is only a small step on a long road.

religions of old where scared of the truth as at that time of the world i believe they where trying to control the world, and in fact i still think they try to, i dont know if the world would be better or worse if they did. I also think it is the zealots who cause most of the problems in religion, as i have a few friends who are devout, and they disagree with the eye for an eye part. But some of them still think it is ok for countries to go to war, i dont. For if a war is truly needed every country in the world would agree, in which case the war would be over with a show of force.

sorry if i have rambled on a bit, and also bear in mind that i dropped out of school when i was almost 14, all my knowledge is from just reading and hearing other peoples views, sometimes it just comes out as im typing and when i read it it makes sense lol. cheers mate and make the most of what ever you take on in life

to daddz2:
how did you die and "come back"? were you like brain dead?
can't really argue with you because of myself never dying and coming back, not wanting to either. But I just find it more and more strange how many times the church would do anything to say it was right when they were wrong, example Galileo when he proved we weren't in a geocentric universe. And I feel that we do need religion for people to 1. be helped to lead good lives, but not to take it so literally. Like I said, I'm not saying there isn't a god, there very well could be. But we are so minute and we aren't even capable of understanding most of the things that happen, then how could we grasp such a huge concept of there being a God?

On the $, yes i'm not saying it's some sort of horrible thing, it's good, but not to base your life around.

On the war aspect, yes, i would have to say that is very true, alot of wars have been all about the $ or oil coughcough
but i was saying also for instance about Jeruselam and how the Middle East is completely torn apart in this ongoing war for hundreds and hundreds of years. But then if there wouldn't be religion, a chain reaction could occur and who knows what would happen.

And thank you, I try lol.

Now as to  the eternal life bit but DONT be quite so dismissive

02/18/2008 23:32:16

i agree to some degree i dont believe in god as a diety but more as a part of each of us, i also think the bible started because some smart people realised that without a belief to follow the world would be kaos. unfortunatly the word of living life as equals some how got lost in all the translations.

Now as to  the eternal life bit but be quite so dismissive, i always believed in nothing after death. but as i was dead for 28 minutes 14 months back i can say that there is something. i seen no bright lights or such but i did feel a presence of my father that left me the first time i tried to open my eyes. i also came home with a message from a dead friend( he died 10 months before me in a helicopter) when i told his wife she started to cry and wanted to know how i knew that, I cannot explain it and i knew nothing of the subject before that. It was the most relaxing time of my life( well non life) i spoke to all involved in reviving me , not just to say thankyou but to try and work out if what had been said was what they had said. Nothing matched.

Im no longer scared of dying im just scared of leaving my kids behind before they are ready to take on the world.

Oh yeh money doesnt bring happiness but it does give enjoyment if it doesnt rule your life. and i disagree with the bit about wars,  if the rich countries pulled there fingers out and helped the poor countries, most of the wars caused through religous beliefs would have nothing to fuel them. But whilst some live in luxery and some live in poverty wars will continue.I often dream of a world where each country has a different role in suppling the rest of the world with goods, ie some places are good for farming and some are good for livestock, some could produce machinery etc

For some one your age you have some wise words, dont loose site of the fact that each and every one of is what makes god. and god is the good in each and every person
