This Week's Rant: Govern-mental
It's a big thing now; voting for the next president. Many people think it's high time Bush got off the throne to make way for somebody new. And this year's election is going to be a good one, because either way there's going to be a first. If Hilary becomes prez, then she'll be the first woman president. If Obama gets all the votes instead, then he'll be the first African-American in charge. Whoever loses will probably try again next time.
To me, it doesn't matter who wins. The government has always been crooked, cruel and dumb. No matter what, they're just there to give us rules and take all our money. There's no way out, except to move somewhere else; but people like it here too much. They're already too attached to the pollution, the bland styrofoam food, the crime, the illegal immigrants working at the fast-food stores, and the greedy corporate morons watching their stock rise while sitting behind a desk. Nobody's safe. Just remember one advice: Do unto others...then run.
In The News: Gas Prices So High They're In Orbit
These gas prices are getting way outta hand. It's steadily approaching $5 a gallon and once it hits that, I suspect many cars are going to be sold. There are already plenty of those gas-guzzlers available at the car dealers; people just don't want them because of their gas tanks. Some people have already found their alternatives in motorcycles, but I've already told my two cent on these things in Traffic Trouble. What will you do now? The government won't do anything; they get all the taxes from gas stations. They're gonna let the price rise.
