It's 7:15am in the morning and instead of coffee, a cop gives me a speeding ticket in the town of Greenburg. He didn't have me on radar and says he paced me at 50 mph in a 30.  This marks my fifth ticket in a one year time span.

This one should be pretty easy to beat. However, tickets are so annoying because you got to waste time on it. Well, that's a wrap and I'm heading back to bed. Got to get my rest hehe so I can work on my finals this week.

Anyhow, I'm adding a Fighting Tickets section in forum if anyone wants to discuss their experience with the law.

I have actually got two tips, now I am not totally sure on either one, so may want to check it out for yourself in your town.

1) in a small town, cops are not allowed to run radar, and if caught, the ticket is no good, and that can be fought.

2) when you get a ticket, there are points taken off of your license, pay that ticket with a check, write the check for $1 or 2 over what the fine is, then walk away, they have to write you a refund check, do not cash it, tear it up, if you do not cash it, the transaction is not finished, there for, they can't take the points off your license.

My hubby thinks I'm the queen of getting out of tickets.  Usually I just get warnings.  I have beat 2 tickets before... and I've helped my dad beat a ticket.  Be sure to look at your ticket for any errors.  Any error will automatically throw it out.  I have argued the logic of the speed.  I had a cop give me a ticket and put the location wrong as to where he clocked me speeding.  The location he put was the corner of which I was turning onto another street to go home.  The speed he said I was clocked at there was impossible due to me turning from a paved to gravel (newly graveled) road.  Had I been going the speed he said - I would have gone off the road.  So I won that one.  Another the cop put down a wrong court date.  He put it too early - so on the date of court he didn't turn in the paperwork (it was 1 week past ticketing) and court is supposed to be one month past.  So it was thrown out.  I haven't been pulled over for a long time now.
