Greetings & Happy New Year Everyone Prayer Room

	Hi - I'm brand new to Friendsforcash, and also to this group.   Just wanted to come by and introduce myself. My prayer requests are:   My Pastor's Dad is very sick, not wanting to eat the thickened food that the hospital says he has to eat. (trouble swallowing without it going in his lungs)     Also, please pray for our son, he is traveling in Iraq, and will be traveling extra on Jan. 20th. So this is the more risky time for him.  He will come home for two weeks at that time, then he goes back again.  His name is John.      The last prayer request is for my mother-in-law.  She is 89 years old, in the hospital getting stronger after a mild stroke.  My concern for her is whether or not she is a christian.    I feel I am being selfish now, but I would like to know in a demonstrated way, that she is trusting Jesus Christ's death on the cross as the only way to heaven.    I worry (I know, it's  not a good thing), .... that she may feel that since she is a "good woman" and hasn't done anything wrong....  and she has attended church most of her life.....that God should let her into heaven on her own merits.   - - I have heard it said..... "Just because you park in a garage, - doesn't make you a car!"  Do you see what I mean?    Well, long story, but bottom line is I would ask that you would pray that someone would find the courage to talk with her about ..... why she feels she will go to heaven.  That God would give her a new heart that is tender to Him, and she would repent of her sins, and accept Jesus as her Savior, and only way of salvation.    -      Thank you for reading this far!
