Entertaining Our Kids on Rainy days
Posted On 07/05/2008 05:42:37 by kiwigal

A topic which has come to my attention is about days off with the children and what we can do to occupy and spend our time with our children.

I know in the age of Playstations, Xboxes, Television we tend to use these too often.  I am guilty of it too, I am no saint.  I try my hardest to keep to the 2 hour limit they say is enough.

So what I am going to do with you all is share my list and you can add, things that do not involve electricity or money.

Colouring In

Going to feed ducks(if you have them)

Going for a walk

Make a Tent inside/hut

Go online and find some paper crafts so you can make some cool pieces up.

Make Cards, if your reading this then you have the tool you need, a computer.

Play Board Games

Hide N Seek (heaps of fun inside)

Go and visit family

Find a sport to involve the children in. (there are inside gymns around everywhere)

But I know for really bad days we do use the Computer at times, so I would like to share

sites my kids are legally allowed on and I find quite good (parental guidance recommended)

If you have any you can add, please do so.  We have also found sites on every little characters on television and some great colouring in print offs online.  We also research about animals.

The other day my son asked me how Rain was made, well I admit I got the computer to answer that big question as I kinda knew but I did not know specifics.

I love the holidays, but I will have to wait for when my kids get back from holiday to do our Holiday activities here in little New Zealand.

Most of all, have fun!

If you have some great additions please add, I am always looking for great stuff to do to make holidays a bit more interesting when wet.
