Posted On 05/12/2008 00:36:03 by daddz2

This morning i recieved an email from paypal, the email looked real and sounded real. Except it came to the wrong address and mentioned a card. I do not use any cards at all. I almost fell for it , i even clicked on it from curiosity except my virus stuff picked it as a scam page and wouldnt let me go there ( i had a mind to have a go at them lol) look at it closely see if you can pick the biggest mistake in it.

The easiest way to avoid phishing scam is to simply type in the address where you want to go. And Using firefox definitely helps as well.

If it saves one person from getting caught out then im glad to help and share. Paypal have not long replied to me confirming that it is phishing and they are working on putting a stop to this one.

I get these in my junkmail on a daily bases. Knowing what to look for is key to avoiding these scams. The address is the first dead giveaway.

Sometimes they even include the real link in the text display, but if you roll your mouse over it, you see that it is completely different.
